PSVAC History

The Park Slope Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Inc. (PSVAC) was founded by members of the Park Slope, Brooklyn community in 1992. At the time, New York City’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were significantly overburdened.  The number of emergency calls for help challenged available resources.  Citywide, in the most extreme cases, ambulance response times were often extended well over 45 minutes.
