As an organization that operates within New York State and New York City Emergency Medical Service guidelines, we require our members to undergo a screening similar to professional EMS workers. Prospective members should be aware of the large time commitment and long period of training needed to become a full-fledged member of PSVAC. We require our active members to participate in at least two 6-hour shifts per month. Due to the time-consuming training and membership initiation process, much greater consideration will be given to people who are willing remain as a year-round member of our organization on a permanent basis.
Serious consideration for membership as Ambulance Attendants will be given only to those who fulfill the following three requirements: 1. Posess a valid and current NYS EMT Card, or are currently enrolled in an EMT-B course. 2. Have a completed medical clearance form, filled by your Primary Medical Doctor (Medical Clearance Form Here) 3. Completed online FEMA training for ICS-700, ICS-100, ICS-200 and posess valid certificates of completion (ICS Training Links) Once all three elements have been fulfilled, you may request membership consideration using our online form . Training While many members of PSVAC are highly experienced, you don't have to be experienced at all to become a member. We provide individual training for new, inexperienced members. Read More...
